With Comic Con International in full swing in San Diego, Dynamite has announced that a new game Tarzan The series will be rocking the comics stores by writer Dan Jurgens. The star writer and star who created Booster Gold will be sticking with iconic jungle master Edgar Rice Burroughs starting in November. He will work with a number of prominent artists in interior art as well as various covers. Created and featured in the October 1912 issue of All-Story magazine, Burroughs quickly became a cultural icon. Jurgens comes to help celebrate the 110th anniversary of this iconic character, with timing to align with the bestselling comics Jurgens has ever written (and drawn): November 1992 Superman #75 (“Superman’s Death”).

It’s a pretty cool resume, and adding a character like Tarzan to it seems just right.
“There are a few fictional characters that are instantly recognizable in a wide range of countries, for people of all ages. Tarzan is one of those characters, and I am honored to write his most recent stories,” Jurgens said in a statement. “Tarzan’s creator Edgar Rice Burroughs created one of the greats of all time and gave those who came later a deep and rich legacy to work through. We look forward to exploring Tarzan’s hidden past that may put him in something light new. We hope you’ll join us on this journey and get Lots of fun as we are.”
Along with artist Benito Gallego, Jurgens will recreate Tarzan for fans and longtime readers alike. Across the series, the full life of a typical jungle action hero will be traced, from birth to adulthood. A secondary framing device weaves together the primary story, as the older Tarzan reflects on his life and the changing world around him, reflecting contemporary concerns that continue to this day.
Learn about Tarzan’s legacy, from his aristocratic background and eventual flirtation with this lifestyle, to his early days raised by apes, and his fearsome rivalries with humans and animals alike. What will happen to this man in his wild world?
The series features a star-studded cast of Jurgens’ artist friends and colleagues, including Gary Frank, Lee Weeks, Dan Panosian, and Josh Burns.
